SUSTAINABILITY AND COMMUNITY
“WE EAT OUR SQUASH ON PIZZA”
We Eat Our Squash On Pizza is a communal tablecloth. This project was organised in collaboration with community groups M.u.d (Youth Group) and Sow & Grow (Dementia group) in Sydenham Gardens. We reflected together on the act of sharing and caring for each other through food foraging, growing and collective cooking.
The tablecloth patchwork was created using cyanotypes and hapa-zome prints made by participants, during our first workshop. We used photography archives from previous sessions and plants foraged in the garden to translate different stories and emotions. Our second workshop explored embroidery, poetry and natural ink drawing, which came to embellish the edges of our tablecloth.
“WHAT DOES A RIVER SAY ?”
“What does a river say?” is a series of walkshops led in collaboration with urbanist Eve Lerouge. We are looking at how we can record sounds, smells and emotions to imagine myths and stories of spirits and creatures living around London waterways…
